About school Government Boys' Higher Secondary School is a 55 years old school, established on June 20th, 1964. It serves with the mission to provide quality education even to the kids who cannot get an affordable education. The school is just half a kilometer away from Chromepet bus stand and railway station. The school provides education to 1700 students approximately every year.

Campus facilities The school is spread on 4 acres of land area. 6 blocks have been constructed for academic and administrative purposes. 2 acres of land is set free for the playground. The school supports sports and other play activities with various sports equipment. There are 55 classrooms. The school has 4 fully equipped science labs, one computer lab and one English lab. It is a WiFi enabled campus. One open auditorium is kept for cultural presentations.
Government schemes The Government Boys' Higher Secondary School follows the Tamil Nadu state Government mid-day meal scheme and provides lunch to the students. It also has potable water. Apart from that, the school also has a separate canteen within the campus. Uniforms and textbooks are given for free.
Teachers of the school are appointed by the Tamil Nadu Government. Students are admitted as per the Government norms.
