Introduction
Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri are very auspicious and precious place in our country. Many of the people visit here from all over the world. All above mentioned places are situated at Uttarakhand. These places have their own importance and these places are very cold so if you are planning to visit these places then you must have full information regarding these places which I am going to share here one by one.
Gangotri
This place is situated at the height of 3200 meters from the sea level. This temple was built in eighteenth of century by Amar Singh Thapa. This temple is dedicated to the Goddess Ganga. Thousands of pilgrims from worldwide visit there every year. There are many ashrams which provide different type of facilities to the pilgrims. It is in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. You can reach Gangotri within one day from Rishikesh. It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful place. So, you must take out some time from your busy schedule and plan to visit this place so that you can actually feel the nature under the beneath of God. If you have ever visited this place then you might be knowing that what an awesome experience it is to visit such a place.
Yamunotri
This place is situated at 3,390 meters above from the sea level. The Yamunotri temple is usually the first step for the Char Dham Yatra. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. Large numbers of devotees visit this place in thousands every year during the months of May to October. According to legend, Yamunotri finds special mention in Hindu mythology which was the home of an ancient sage, Asit Muni. Some of the prime attractions of Yamunotri are the Yamunotri Temple built by Maharani Guleria of Jaipur in the late nineteenth century. The Surya Kund is a thermal spring known for high temperatures at 190°F. Rice and potatoes are cooked by pilgrims in this water. Devotees also pay respect to Divya Shila, a rock pillar just before entering the Yamunotri temple.
Badrinath
This place is situated at the height of 3,753 meters above the sea level. Badarinath Dham is considered to be one of the most sacred centers of pilgrimage situated in Garhwal hill. The route to Badarinath is one of the most adventuring one due to the hilly area and curves prove to be the most beautiful place on the earth.Throughout the route of Badarinath there are many pilgrimage sites to visit at and these are Deo Prayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Nandaprayag and Vishnuprayag as well as Pandukeswar. At Badarinath Lord MahaVishnu is believed to have done his tapsya. It is believed that Lord Vishnu revealed to Narad rishi that Nar & Naryans forms were his own. It is also believed that Narad rishi, who also did his penance here, is even now worshipping the supreme God with Ashtakshara mantras.
Kedarnath
This place is situated at an height of 3,553 meters above the sea level. There are different places to visit in Kedarnath. This place is 14-15 kilometer from Gaurikund. This place is considered to be the place of Lord Shiva and Kedarnath is the another name of Lord Shiva. This temple was built on early eighth century. Here also lots and lots of devotees visit this place in thousands from worldwide every year. Every year due to heavy snowfall this place needs to be closed to measure the necessary precautions.
