Procedure and Tips to get F1 Visa

This gives a clear picture about F1 visa and its procedure and what things need to be carried on the day of interview.

Hi,

Today many students who have finished their B. Tech are planning to their higher educations like MS in foreign countries. Few days back I got my F1 visa (students Visa) to US and I would like to share some of my experiences and easy ways to get F1 visa.

Why F1 Visa?

Any student who have finished their bachelors and planning to do MS or any masters in US with a valid original I20 signed by the international admissions department of that university are eligible to apply for F1 visa. This visa is essential in order to travel to the foreign a country as a student.

Procedure to apply for F1 Visa:

In order to apply for F1 visa they are various steps and one need to follow the process step by step.

First you need to pay a fee of $140 in HDFC bank and obtain a slip and a barcode.

Then we need to prepare a report of CE (Charted Engineer) and CA (Charted Accountants). CA report is consolidated report of all our assets in the form of liquid cash, bank balance, GPF, MIS, FD's, LIC, immovable properties etc. Whereas CE is the report made for the immovable properties like land, agriculture, house etc.

With these documents being ready you can visit the VFS site (www.vfs-usa.co.in) and fill in the DS-160 online photo and then upload your photo of size 50x50 with white background. Once you're done with it you will be given a barcode and with this barcode and barcode number given by the HDFC bank you can book the slot based on the availability of the slots.

Things that need to be carried on the day of Visa Interview:

You need to take a harmony file in which all the originals are present. Divide all your documents into four sets.

Set1:

It should consist of HDFC fee receipt, interview appointment, passport, SEVIS fee receipt, DS 160 form, B. Tech original marks memos along with individual marks memos, and GRE & TOEFL score cards.

Set2:

All the things related to CA along with the original CA report and if you have any FD's you need to carry the original FD receipt. One needs to show even the recent six months bank transactions.

Set3:

Everything related to CE like house papers etc should be taken, in this case even the photocopy will be allowed if the originals are not available.

Set4:

This set should have 10th, inter marks memos, other extracurricular activity certificates if any.

Some tips to get F1 Visa:

Try to be confident in what you're speaking. More you're confidence level less will be the number of questions.

Never try to bluff them if you're caught you will be banned for life time.

Always provide the originals and never produce any fake documents.

Regards,
Karthik
