Tripuranthakam is located in the prakasam district of andhrapradesh. The famous and the Oldest temples of Lord TRIPURANTHAKESWARA SWAMY and TRIPURASUNDARI DEVI are located in this place.It is one of the Four gateways to SRISAILAM,which is one among the Jyothirlingams. The temple of TRIPURANTHAKESWARA SWAMY is at the top of the hill.The temple of TRIPURASUNDARI DEVI is in between the lake. It is believed that your pilgrimage to srisailam is complete only if you visit TRIPURANTHAKAM.Inside the temple of swamy you can find an (bila margam)underground passage which leads you to SRISAILAM.From this passage Srisailam is only 36kms away whereas by the road way it is around 120kms. The lingam of Lord shiva is very big and you can really stare at the beauty of the lingam.The statue of devi is very different to all other statues and you need to go down the steps to see the statue of devi which is in between the lake.Nagendra swamy temple,which is near by is also very famous and powerful. Never visit the place in rainy season because the temple of TRIPURASUNDARI DEVI which is inside the lake will get drowned and no one will be allowed inside during that time.
