Applications are invited to fill up vacancies of constables (executive-male) and women (executive) in Delhi Police :
1. Constable (Executive - Male) : 6302 posts (UR-3182, OBC-1702, SC-945, ST-473), Pay Scale : PB-1 Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs.2000/-, Age : 18 to 21 years as on 01/07/2009 (Relaxation to SC/ST/OBC and Sportsperson as per rules) , Qualification : 10+ 2 (Senior Secondary) pass from a recognized Board, Graduation Certificate for Ex-Servicemen, Physical Standard : 170 height, Chest : 81-85 cms.
2. Women Constable (Executive ) : 416 posts (UR-211, OBC-112, SC-62, ST-31), Pay Scale : PB-1 Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs.2000/-, Age : 18 to 25 years as on 01/07/2009 (Relaxation to SC/ST/OBC and Sportswomen, widows, divorced, judiciary separated women as per rules) , Qualification : 10+ 2 (Senior Secondary) pass from a recognized Board, Physical Standard : 157 height (relaxation as per rules).
Application Fee : Rs. 100/- in the form of Demand/Bank Draft in favour of DCP/Rectt Cell, New Police Lines, Delhi.
How to Apply : Application in the prescribed format should be sent by ordinary post to the Post Box No. 8020, Delhi - 110033 on or before 28/11/2009.

Vast career opportunities are available in Delhi Police at various levels. Some of the important recruitments are the following:
i) Constable
ii) Ministerial Cadre
iii) Sub-Inspector
iv) Assistant Commissioner of Police
Recruitment of Constables (Male & Female) in Delhi Police is done by a Recruitment Board appointed by Commissioner of Police. Candidates from all parts of country are eligible for recruitment. The vacancies are notified in the concerned Employment Exchange of Delhi and Central Employment Exchange on all India Basis. Besides, vacancies are also advertised in News Papers/Rozgar Samachar inviting application for open competition. The applicants are required to appear for Physical Examination, Written Test and Interview.
Direct Recruitment to the Ministerial Cadre is made only in the rank of Head Constable (Ministerial) and of Stenographers in the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspector. Competitive examination for this purpose is held for which candidates from open competition as well as from the department are eligible. Vacancies are also advertised in News Papers/Rozgar Samachars.
For Sub-Inspectors Delhi Police places advertisements from time to time.
For Assistant Commissioner of Police the entire process is conducted and carried out by the Union Public Service Commission and candidates are selected through Civil Services Examination.
