Meb Keflezighi became the first American man to win the New York City Marathon in the last 18 years. Meb was 2004 Olympic silver medalist. He was born in 1975 in Eritrea. His fastest times are 3:42.29 for 1,500 meters(1998); 13:11.77 for 5,000 meters(2000); 27:13.98 for 10,000 meters(2001); and 2:09:15 for the marathon(2009) at the New York City Marathon.
