I was the student of Serampore College which is one of the oldest college in India. It is in the Hooghly district at Serampore. Its gothic style of building grows honor automatically in the mind of any student. It was founded by James Carry, Murshman and Williams in the 17 the century. The holy river flows just by the side of this college. I was admitted in that college in the year 1977. The professors was so helpful and they were always eager to help us. When they were in the class room they became teacher but as soon as they came out from the class they turned in to a friends. I still remember Mr. Ashoke Palit,Mr.Susanta Bhattacharya and Miss. Uma Banerjee all were from Bengali section. Among them Mr Sushanto Bhattacharya had an exceptional quality. He can dictate the notes from his mind and most astonishing fact is in every class the notes remain same in all lines and words. I cant forget Mr. D.P. Mukherjee who was from Eng section and never shaw so sensitive teacher in whole college life. Actually at that time the student teacher relationship was beyond imagination and teachers were teachers. With due respect all the teachers I feel there is some gap has been made between teachers and student. At that time they used scold us so many times but at th same time called us during off periods and talked with so much feelings that I still remember. I feel proud in my mind that I met so many honorable and respected teachers and I feel from my heart that if they were not at that time I would not come at this position in which am now.
