Most of us spend over half our lives working and eager to live a healthy life. Our eating habits can reduce our risk of many diseases, including cardiovascular disease (heart disease and stroke).
Cardiovascular disease accounts for over 17.2 million annual deaths globally. This is why World Heart Day 2009 (which is being celebrated on the 27th of September 2009) is urging everyone to “Work with Heart”
•Be physically active during the day. Create or participate in sports or fitness group.
•Walk for 10 minutes after your lunch. Include physical activity in your daily routine and encourage others to do so too.
•Provide your colleagues with information about the benefits that they can gain from being physically active on a regular basis.
•A smoke-free environment is beneficial for the heart.
•Eat with care and eat moderately. Binge eating causes fats to get stored which will definitely be harmful.
•Including more vegetables and protein in your diet would definitely keep your heart happier.
This is a call for everyone to take a step towards keeping your heart healthy. By making small changes, together we can make a big difference in the health and productivity of our lives.
Regards
Amit Siwach
