Top countries in foreign education-part2
|
Hi friends, In my previous article we discussed about the top three countries and the courses they offer. If you haven't gone through it, please follow this link Top countries in foreign education. Here let us discuss about some other widely chosen countries for foreign education.
Germany Germany is the best platform for pursuing science courses like Life Science and Bio Science. But the drawback here is the country’s stringent rules in foreign education. To get admission in to any course the candidate must satisfy either 13-year (10+2+1) or 16-year (10+2+4) academic record. This conflicts with our educational system. In addition, candidates with academic percentage of 70-80 are only eligible to apply for any course. Satisfying both the above criteria, the student should also get good score in entrance exams like GRE, TOEFL, GMAT etc. The academic calendar is divided in to 1.April 2.October
Canada If your area of interest is Research, Canada is the country for you. Popular research courses here are: 1.Mining 2.Telecommunication 3.Aerospace 4.Automobile 5.Animation 6.Software development 7.Biotechnology 8.Hospitality management The reason why this country is best chosen for R&D work is its tax benefits. For this reasons, many institutes are choosing Canada as their platform. Therefore it is recommended for PhD. But for PG things are tough. The reason is very few universities are offering courses in PG. Foreign educational policy, qualifying entrance exams and academic calendar are similar to the US.
Singapore Singapore stands best in Bachelor degree. Also this is the favorite place among Asian countries. Here Bachelor degree is called as Polytechnic. To get admission in to this, candidate should 80% or above in his intermediate. Also he should qualify the entrance exams conducted by respective universities. For PG courses, TOEFL and IELTS score is compulsory. Some universities conduct their own English foundation course to get admission. Singapore government offers work holiday program. According to this, one can work entire day during holidays. Academic calendar is divided in to 1.March 2.July
New Zealand New Zealand is gaining popularity in recent years. Popular courses here are: 1.Management 2.Sports 3.Physical education 4.Dairy technology 5.Forestry 6.Food processing 7.Bio technology 8.Tourism
Admission to all the above courses is given in the month of March. One should apply 5 months before to get admission in to these courses. In general, the course duration for bachelor degree is 3 years, for Law and medicine it is 4 years and for professional courses, it is 6 years. IELTS and TOEFL scores are compulsory here. After course completion, if the student gets job, he can extend his visa for 2 more years.
Japan Japan is the hot favorite for courses in science and technology. Every year, around 40,000 students choose Japan. Like IITs in India, prominence is given there to schools of technology. These are the best in the world for Merchant and shipping courses. Academic session for these courses starts in the month of April. To get admission in to PG courses, 16-year academic record is compulsory. Also, to get admission in to the institutes, one should compulsorily attend exam conducted in the areas of English, Math and Japanese. The counties embassy takes care of these exams. This exam is conducted in our country also. Exam is conducted in Delhi in the months of December and January.
In addition to the above countries, students are looking for opportunities in countries like Malaysia, South Africa and Austria. Hope you enjoyed this article. If you like it, please give your comments.
Regards, Narendra
