Why we need f-Disk partitioning?
Where there is computer there is virus attacks. We try to clean the virus using an anti virus.Even this process fails we go for formatting system.but we have to know about one thing that is virus is not removed completely with just formatting our windows. There is some space allocated for Allocation tables in our system memory. This space is not formatted at that time.so,to format even this space and make our computer a complete clean system.but to this we must have a Windows-98 boot compact disk.By using this we can format our system completely and install the operating system what we want.Hey don`t fear about knowing how to do this very important f-disk partitioning.I`ll explain you all in detail about it.
Using F-Disk
Configure to BIOS boot order from boot floppy before the hard disk boot.Place Windows 98 boot floppy in Floppy drive. The following examples use a Windows 98SE boot floppy with RAM drive support booting into a computer with an NTFS as the first primary partition. Read all the onscreen text and options carefully before you pick an option. If you delete the wrong partition you may not be able to recover it easily.
Put the floppy in the drive and power up the computer; the files are loaded into memory and the screen shows that no valid FAT partition is detected (Fig. 1). At this stage, no NTFS is mentioned.
Fig 1.Starting up Windows 98 boot floppy.
At the
A:\>command prompt type, fdisk/status
To check the drive status initially or skip this step and type:fdisk
 Fig2:Fixed fdisk status
This screen shows up after you have typed fdisk and asks if you wish to enable large disk support:Choose 'Y' initially
Fig3:Your computer has disk larger than 512 MB
In next window the message shows that the fdisk can detect NTFS partition.Again choose 'Y' initially (usually this is the option to choose) or else 'N' if there is any problem and then rerun 'fdisk'.
Fig4:Your computer has NTFS partitions which may require large drive support.
A List of options are displayed now on the screen choose either 'Create DOS partition' or 'Logical DOS drive'.In this section choosing option '2' is not appropriate.
 Fig5:F disk Option1
Choose '3' Delete partition or Logical DOS drives.
 Fig6:Delete partition or Logical Drive
Before choosing the above option you may wish to review the existing partition information first;Choose option 4 'Display partition Information'
 Fig4:F Disk option 4
This shows the information which is slight more detailed than using fdisk/status.If there is more than one partition take extra care to choose correct option. You must know about the logical drive information to choose this option.
 Fig8:FDisk:Display partition information:NTFS.
If you want to delete NTFS partition,Choose option 4 'Delete non-DOS partition' on correct drive and press enter.
 Fig9:Choose option 4
If you wish not to proceed, press Esc to return to fdisk options menu. After you've deleted the partition you would need to reformat it to use it again using the format command.
So you should finally be convinced now it is possible to use fdisk to delete an NTFS partition and you do not need to use the Windows XP CD to format an NTFS partition to FAT32 first before re-installing Windows 9x.
Now,happily Install your required operation system in your computer and now you are free from any type of virus completely.
All The Best.
