Indications for each formula Highly hydrolysed formula
Hydrolysed formulas are highly effective in: • Children under the age of 12-15 months of age with moderate symptoms of atopic dermatitis and with a diagnosis of allergy to cow's milk proteins, confirmed with provocation tests. Must have been breastfed for at least 5 months and consume at least 6 months. • Children younger than 4 months with a diagnosis of allergy to cow's milk proteins, confirmed by provocation tests, fed at least 2-3 months with this formula. Partially hydrolyzed formulas
Partially hydrolyzed formulas are useful to reduce the presence of allergy to cow's milk proteins, and allergic symptoms in children with a family history of allergy and / or elevated ige. Where: • Breastfeeding is not possible • Are managed on an exclusive basis for at least 6 months.
The partially hydrolysed are useless if there is a proven allergy to cow's milk proteins.
Elemental formulas
The formulas follow the same basic criteria. In general, the fully hydrolyzed formulas are best placed in allergy to cow's milk proteins on partially hydrolyzed and soy. When symptoms occur with highly hydrolysed is due to pass a basic milk (higher cost).
