Acceptance

Pain is a part of the process of life. However we try to avoid pain and cling to pleasure, we will never succeed. In fact, our attempt at this will actually increase our suffering and mental anguish whenever life doesn't meet our expectations but when we give up this struggle and accept the world as it is no longer the pain of life, we become more at peace with ourselves and with the world.
When one gets angry one justifies ones anger but when someone else gets angry you criticize that person. Most of us have double standard, one behaviour code for ourselves and another for everyone else. This double standard is a source of inner turmoil because it always judges and always contradicts itself, the world needs to be changed but you don't. It follows that you waste a lot of energy complaining about people and things because they don't meet your expectations.
If the criticism turns to be your mental habit, you keep yourself from experience the deep inner peace that comes from acceptance of life as it is. Acceptance is one of the most powerful methods of achieving peace of mind. Once you realize that greed, hatred and other dark feelings exist in you as well as in others, you have gone a long way towards transforming these negative energies in to powers of inner peace.
Rejection never transforms anything. It simply suppresses. Anything you suppress becomes more powerful. It moves to your roots and settles in your unconscious mind. But by accepting your yourselves as human beings, you will bring these suppression to surface when you can transform them into vital energy.
Try This.
Spend one day, accepting people for what they are. Don'T condemn them, for their actions. Instead see yourself in whomever you meet. This will bring many of your suppressed thoughts into your conscious mind. So that you become aware of them. Whatever you feel arises in you through this acceptance, be aware of it without judgement, self consciousness or criticism. If greed comes up don't try to turn it up into absence of greed or you will suppress it once again. Rather accept the world and yourself fully, calmly, without any effort to change them.
Regards,
Tahir
