The Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology(RAIT) , is a premier institution, holding pride of place among all the institutions in the group as well as all the technical institutes in the state. It was established in 1983 to promote excellence in technology and for nurturing smart engineering talent. It is located in the D.Y. Patil Vidyanagari campus at Nerul,close to the Mumbai-Pune Express Highway. It is housed in a spacious building surrounded by the breathtaking view of the velvety lawns and the verdant gardens in the well maintained sprawling campus.
he institute is affiliated to the Mumbai University.It is approved by the ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION (AICTE),a statutary body of the Government Of India. RAIT is an 'A' grade college approved by the Government Of Maharashtra.
Two of the undergraduate programmes viz,Electronics Engineering and Computer Engineering are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation for a period of three years. The institute is also running its post graduate programmes in two branches of Engineering since July 2005. The post graduate programmes are also affiliated to the University of Mumbai and approved by AICTE. The two branches are Electronic Engineering and Computer Engineering. The Postgraduate programmes are also affiliated to the University of Mumbai and approved by AICTE.
Like most successfully managed institutions, RAIT also believes in following the principles of democratic governance. Various committees are set up to ensure the smooth functioning of the institute. Regular and periodic meetings are held among the committees which involve the management, faculty and staff to address essential issues and to ensure proper coordination among the various departments, committee conveners and administrative staff.
An institution progresses when its mainstay, the student community prospers. This can be seen in the various steps taken by the college to ensure a contented student force in its campus. Counselors are appointed to counsel the students and redress their grievances if any.
The college also has a full fledged Redressal committee to address the grievances of faculty and students. At present the grievance Redressal Committee is headed by the ---------------------.
An institution grows only when it makes appropriate changes from time to time. Such a change is possible only if there is a feedback system. The institution follows an informal but efficient system of collecting feedback about faculty performance from the students. The faculty appraisals are collected periodically within an informal framework.
