The VI International Symposium on Optimization and Statistics will
be organized by the Department of Statistics and Operations
Research, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India during
December 29-31, 2008.
The aim of holding of the symposium is to disseminate and
highlight the current researches in all the branches of Statistics
and Operations Research.
About Aigarh Muslim University (AMU)
The AMU is a premier Central University with several Faculties
and maintained Institutions and draws students from all corners of
India as well as from abroad.
Aligarh is situated on the middle of Doab – the land between
Ganga and Yamuna rivers, at a distance of 130 km southeast of
Delhi on the Delhi-Kolkata rail route and the Grand Trunk Road.
The latitude is 27.54’ N and longitude is 78.05’ E.
The climate is fairly cold in December (Temperature: 0 5 C to
0 15 C).
The University Campus is 3 km away from Aligarh Railway Station
and about 90 km from Agra, the City of Taj.

MS-WORD or in PDF format to the Director, International

After refereeing, the accepted papers will be published in the
Special Volume of the Aligarh Journal of Statistics.

Registration Fee
Participants from India/SAARC countries : INR 700/-
Participants from abroad : US$ 150/-
Spouse : US$ 100/-
Per child : US$ 50/-
The amount should be sent through a Bank Draft, drawn in favour
of the Director, International Symposium 2008, Aligarh Muslim
University, Aligarh-202 002, payable at Aligarh, India.
The Registration Fee will cover Boarding/Lodging and Local
Hospitality at the University Campus.
