Admission to above employment oriented programme will be made on the basis of past academic record, Entrance (on mental ability) Test and Interview. Graduates (in any discipline) from the recognized universities can apply on forms available from teh department on payment of Rs.300/-. Out station applicants are required to send their application to get the form by enclosing DD for Rs.350/- favouring "COURSE COORDINATOR, P.G. DIPLOMA IN REMOTE SENSING & GIS', payable at Allahabad.

P. G. Diploma in Remote Sensing and G.I.S
This employment oriented Postgraduate Diploma in Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System (GIS) is being offered by the premier University of India, the Allahabad University as one of its Central Facilities, housed in the GEOGRAPHY DEPARTMENT which is the first department of geography in India which offers doctoral programmes in Mapping Sciences and Master's level programme in various branches of this discipline i.e. Remote Sensing and GIS. This diploma course is open to Graduates in any discipline of this University or of any other recognised University. Preference will be given to students having knowledge of computer and mathematics.
IMPORTANT DATES:
Last date for the receipt of the Admission Form is 31 August 2008.
Last date for the submission of Admission Form is 10 September 2008.
Admit card for written test and interview will not be issued. Postage receipt (for outstation candidates) or receipt issued by this department (for local candidates) will be treated as admit card for written test.
Date of written test (Objective questions on Reasoning & Mental ability) and interview of all candidates: September 21, 2008 (Sunday), Time: 8:00 A.M. and Venue: Department of Geography, University of Allahabad, Allahabad – 211 002
List of selected candidates for admission will be announced on September 25, 2008.
Date of admission of the selected candidates & submission of Course Fee: 25 – 09 – 2008 to 30 – 09 – 2008.
Candidates selected for admission are requested to bring Demand Draft of Rs. 24510/- in the name of ‘Course Coordinator, P. G. Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS’ payable at Allahabad on the above prescribed date i. e. from 25 – 09 – 2008 to 30 – 09 – 2008.
