Sea weeds and sea animals which can be consumed by people are called sea food. Here are some mouth watering sea food delicacies

DELICIOUS SEA FOOD RECEPIES

SHRIMP NOODLES DELIGHT

Meal for 2

Requirements:

Shrimps – 12 nos
Corn flour- half cup
Ginger (finely chopped) - 2 table spoons
Garlic (finely chopped) – 1 table spoon
Sesame oil – 1 table spoon
Soy sauce – 2 tea spoons
Chilli sauce – 1 table spoon
White wine (dry) – 4 tea spoons
Water – half cup
Chinese red pepper – half table spoon
Noodles – 2 cups
Cashew (roasted) –half cup

Method
1. Add corn flour in a plate and add the shrimps to it so that the shrimps are dusted with corn flour.
2. Heat sesame oil in a sauce pan and add the shrimps and fry. Turn the shrimps upside down now and then so that both sides are cooked well. Set the fried shrimps aside.
3. In another sauce pan add the finely chopped ginger and deglaze it with dry white wine. Also add soy sauce, chilli sauce and water and add it along with the ginger-garlic and the sauces so that the mixture becomes thick. Allow to simmer until thick.
4. Cook the noodles and drain the water. When little warm, toss the noodles in the prepared sauce so that the noodles get coated with the sauce.
5. Place the noodles in a plate. Place the fried shrimps on top of it. Garnish with the roasted cashews.

A delightful sea food delicacy is ready.

Fish is a commonly consumed sea food delicacy.

BANANA LEAF STEAMED FISH

Requirements:

Fish (pomfrets) – 400 gms (should be washed and cleaned)
Lemon juice – 2 table spoons.
Banana leaves – to steam the fish
Salt to taste

To be ground into a paste
Coconut (grated) – half cup
Green chillies – 4
Garlic (chopped) – 1 tablespoon
Coriander leaves – half cup
Coriander seeds – 2 tea spoons
Lemon juice – 2 table spoons
Salt to taste

Method
1. Cut the fish into horizontal slices and clean well.
2. Toss the fish with lemon juice and salt and keep aside for half an hour.
3. After that coat the fish slices with the ground paste. Apply on both the sides and marinate for sometime.
4. Then place the marinated fish fillets on a portion of banana leaf with some paste also greased on the sides of the leaf. Each fish fillet should be wrapped separately.
5. Steam the wrapped fish fillets in a steamer for sometime say for around half an hour.
6. Serve the steamed fish, unwrapping from the banana leaf and us finely sliced lemon for garnishing.

Few tips to be noted:
There is some additional flavor added to the dish when cooked using banana leaf.
Traditionally, pomfret is used for this recipe.

MARINE SOUP

Requirements:

Olive oil – 4 tea spoons
Garlic (finely chopped) – 3 cloves
Chinese pepper – 1 tea spoon
Tomato puree – half cup
Scallops – 4
Shrimps – 8
Mussels – 8
Chicken stock – half cup
Salt and pepper powder to taste.
For garnish – Italian parsley

Method

Heat olive oil in a sauce pan and add garlic and sauté till it becomes golden brown. Add the tomato puree and the Chinese pepper. Then add the scallops, mussels and shrimps. Close the saucepan with a lid and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Then add the chicken stock and cook in medium flame till it becomes thick. Then add salt, pepper and oregano and garnish with parsley.


Enjoy cooking mouth watering sea food dishes.
