Anatomy of a Dicot stem
Dicots are more advanced and have 2 cotyledons in the seed.
Three distinct layers of epidermis, cortex and staler region is found.
Epidermis : Mode of single layer of cells with multi cellular hair and stomata may be present.
Hypodermis :- Below epidermis 6-8 layers of collenchyma which are compactly arranged.
The General Cortex :- This comprises of loosely arranged parenchyma cells.
Endodermis :- This is the inner most layer of cortex made of single layer of cells.
Pericycle :- The Sclenchyma cells are found in patches inner to endodermis. This forms the pericycle.
