The aim of this project is to find the pH of some salt solutions using pH paper The required materials are test tubes , measuring cylinders, glass rod , pH papers and solutions of some salts. First take 6 clean test tubes and name them as A,B,C,D,E,F . Put 2 -3 drops of the salt solutions like sodium acetate, calcium chloride, sodium chloride in respective test tubes. Then add pH paper to each test tube and note the colour change on the pH paper. Compare the colour with the pH indicator chart. Record the observations . From this experiment we find that aqueous solutions of salts of weak acids and strong base have basic pH . Aqueous solutions of salts of strong acids and weak base have acidic pH. Aqueous solutions of salts of strong acid and strong base have neutral pH. Aqueous solutions of salts of weak acid and weak base have neutral pH.
