Materials needed: fish bowl or a glass bowl, sodium silicate , few drops of cupper sulphate, cobalt chloride, ferrous sulphate, nicklie sulphate and manganese chloride.
Method: 1: Take a fish bowl or a glass bowl and sprinkle a layer of coarse sand ( about 1/4 inch ). This forms the bottom layer.
2: Fill the remaining part with the water glass( sodium silicate) diluted with an equal amount of water.
3: Drop in it few crystals of each --cupper sulphate, cobalt chloride, ferrous sulphate, nickle sulphate and manganese chloride.
4:The sprinkling of the crystals should be done with some creativity so that the colors arising from these crystals gives the desired effect.
5: Within seconds, some of the crystals will be sending up shoots and in an hour or two the garden is completely grown.
6: Note: after a day or two, the sodium silicate solution should be carefully siphoned off and replaced with fresh water.
7: As the "plants" are metallic silicates, they will not dissolve. They will last until they are broken by jarring.
