Peritrichous bacteria have flagella all around, monotrichous have one flagellum at one end, amphitrichous bacteria have flagella at both the ends and lophotrichous bacteria possess a tuft of flagella at one end . Some bacterial cells contain extra chromosomal DNA rings called plasmids.Infoldings of plasma membrane are called mesosomes.They play an important role in respiration as they contain the respiratory enzymes.
