Quality of bricks:
Bricks should be moulded from good earth,free from all traces of saltpetre or other salts.They should be of uniform deep-red,cherry or copper colour,thoroughly burnt without being vitrified.
They should be hard,sound and of uniform sizes and shapes having each two adjacent plane surfaces at true right angles.The bricks should be free from cracks,chips,flaws or humps of any kind.They should not show any signs of efflorescence either in dry state or after soaking in water.
They shall be uniform in texture and emit a clear ringing sound on being struck.Dry bricks should not absorb more than one-sixth of their weight when immersed in water for one hour.
They should not break when two bricks in two hands are struck together or when dropped from a height of one metre from the ground.

It is great and sound information about bricks. I want to add information about bricks. Bricks are main item in the construction we want to take it seriouse becoz many paople ignor it
