I am a little tentative on this, as I strongly feel that the defence forces no longer rely only on maps to position themselves. I strongly feel that GPS/AGPS etc. or someother way of wireless communication should be in place already.
Comments invited.
Using GPS receivers, such a system can be built around a central control processor. If such a system is anyway going to be tried, strongly recommend to have a solar-chargeable battery unit inplace so that long stretches away from electricity does not maroon someone! :)
