Objective:-To prove that the body a rest tends to remain at rest.
Materials required:-
Tumbler,Five-rupee coin, 1 playing card
Procedure:-
(1)set a five-rupee on a stiff playing card covering an empty glass tumbler standing on a table.
(2)Give the card a sharp horizontal flick with a finger.If we do it fast thennm the card shoots away,allowing the coin to fall vertically fall into the tumbler due to its inertia.
(3)The inertia of the coin tries to maintain its state of rest even when the card flows off.
Inference:-
(1)The card tries to remain at rest due to its inertia of rest.Hence the following Newton's first law goes good with it:-
When an object remains at rest,it tends to remain at rest and When an object remains at motion,it tends to remain at motion.It is called Inertia.
