Responsibilities Held /Achievements in IIT Madras:

•Center For Innovation (CFI) Coordinator: One of the three members to introduce “Advance Materials Club (AMC)” in which we are about to conduct a series of Lectures , Demonstrations , Do-It-Yourself Sessions etc. and serve as a guiding platform for those who want to convert their innovative ideas into prototypes.(Present Semester)

•Bio Materials Workshop Coordinator , AMALGAM-09(technical festival of Metallurgical and Materials Engg. Dept.): organized a lecture given by Dr. Sridhar , Professor and Head, Bio Medical Engg. , SMK Fomra Institute of Engg. And Tech. , Chennai and a Demonstration and Lab Visit under the guidence of Asst. Prof. T S Sampath Kumar, IIT Madras.(Present Semester).

•Event Coordinator, AMALGAM-08(technical festival of Metallurgical and Materials Engg. Dept.): Introduced and conducted an event called “Material Hunt” which was one of the best events of AMALGAM-08.

•Equipment Coordinator, AMALGAM-08(technical festival of Metallurgical and Materials Engg. Dept.): Responsible for Booking of Venues and all the equipment required.

Previous Projects:
•Project on “Modifying Heat Treatment of Bull Head Hammers For Improving Their Life” under the guidance of Mrs. Ruchira Gupta(AGM,QA&TD,VSP) at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant ( May – June 2008).This included :
o Analyzing the failed samples
o Implementing our thermal cycles
o Analyzing the Hardness and Microstructures of prepared Samples.
o Providing some economically viable solutions to improve the wear resistance of the Bull Head Hammers.

o Melting and Casting Aluminium
o Observing the thermal characteristics of the solidification using thermocouples.

• A term paper on “Sputter Ion or Getter pumps” under Dr. Gandham Phanikumar (Asst. Professor, IIT Madras). This included gathering information about the parts and working principle of the Sputter Ion or Getter Pumps.
