It looking like a very good suggestion from Manish. I think this can be done that when a a post is put in pending just give zero point to it as said by manish.

Hello friends,
I also feel that manish is right. The unwanted posts which have been in the pending status for a long time must be deleted. I have two posts in the pending section. I contacted with the editors and put a forum message to know about the errors to be corrected.
But I did not get ant response from the editors. In my opinion if there are are some minor errors to be corrected it should be pointed out. Or if the post is not of good quality it can be deleted. Keeping it in pending status for a long time and giving the opportunity for members to earn fake points is not good.

Hi Manish,
We noticed the issue long back. The posts are moved in to pending state by the editors is to give a chance to the members to make changes. In school and college section the posts with out full details are moved in to pending stage. This allows the members to correct the information. Most of the members are not aware of this.
We have to arrange a massive editing program to remove all the pending posts in ISC. We have to done it before December. The main aim of the selection of trainee editors are to clear the pending works in ISC. Hope all trainee editors will co operate with the project.

Jose Sir is quite right, as a trainee editor for forum section, I found a lot of copied contents in the form of responses, those has to be checked with from where it is copied, later it deserves the right place, as on date I found more than 300 responses were copied from other sources, once it is confirmed after verification as it is copied, then such responses will be deleted.
Further, as per the guidelines of ISC, the copy and paste process is not allowed strictly, in this aspect the co-operation of the members is also required, as the copy and paste the contents or texts takes few seconds of time, where as the process of checking may take more time than required, which puts more burden on editors.

This is nice interpretation by Manish and offcourse a nice answer by Jose. There should be something liable about the pending items as these increases credit which should be deleted or accepted after a complete review so as to maintain the equilibrium in the credit points and cash.
But with raise of concern about the members at ISC I dont feel that all the members are here to make income. Majority is for the sake of sharing and distributing knowledge to the students and who are indeed.

Hello jose sir,
In your response you have told that the pending post are left for the members to correct the mistakes. I made some changes in the pending posts. But I dont think it was reviewed by editors again. It is still in pending status.

Hi Manish,
Your point is somewhere valid. Even today and yesterday I noticed one of our member id "afzal" has posted about more than 100 schools which has incomplete address and email and phone numbers are his personal. Initially few posts I kept in pending but I was aware that this will add points to his profile but not useful for ISC because I sent him the personal message from his profile to correct this things.
He has not yet corrected and still posting the same so I now started completely deleting the posts.
Jose: I think this points allotment should happen when posts is accepted.

Here I would like to mention further that, some members have posted some lengthy answers in Ask Expert question as 'Anonymous', which I found rather difficult to trace, that too copied from other websites, they copy more than once, and by default atleast they get 2 points for a single response, if they do that more than once it multiplies for the same question, they answer like that for several questions, if such will be the case then they easily make more than 100 points from Ask Expert section only in a single day, in one section.

Hi Nilesh, First I will answer your query. The points a member earns before a resource is approved is only an indication. It doesn't calculate to the Total Points at all according to what I know. Once a resource is approved, only then the Total Points of the member is updated which actually determines the Member Level of the member. So in that way, I don't think there is any problem at all really.
Hi Renjith, If you have edited your resource, please inform the concerned editor with the link to your post about your updation. Besides, please tell me the section where you have edited the post? I will guide you to the appropriate editor if you do not know him/her.

Dear all, I totally agree with Manish, with regard to fake points. But in some sections like Business, the pending posts are left for the members to correct the mistakes. Though from time to time, the editors check the pending posts too, I would here suggest the members to send a message to the editors to check their post along with the url, yes along with the url in case of business, resources, which will help the editors trace the post easily, rather than going through the lenghty process of tracing it through the profile page.
If still after you have sent a message, your post is in pending, check again, for the following aspects: 1. Have you given all the required information 2. Is there any unwanted html tags 3. Does your post contain a photo inbetween the post 4. Have you written everything in caps 5. Have you changed the font size and colour
If all these are checked then you will understand why your post is in pending. ISC always gives a chance and a second chance too to correct the mistakes.

Dear Friends, Manish is correct and we should do something immediately to modify the current system for the benefit of all members and to maintain/improve the standard of ISC.
I have a suggestion to avoid this type of situation. 7 Days Time Limit For Pending posts
