Yes there are some medication in Homeopathy, which works so well.
As iam a Siddha physician, i would point out some points.
1) Tonsillitis is caused chiefly due to infection in the tonsil glands.
2) As tonsil gland is a lymph gland it is not advisable to remove it. As per allopathy practice doctors wish to remove it to relieve of symptoms, but in my experience persons with removed tonsils are very much prone to infections.
3) Tonsils is where macrophages(cells protecting our body from infections) are produced.
4) When there are some infection the tonsil gland gets inflamed due to the accumulation of foreign bodies, which is physiological.
5) A good antibiotic will do well. Roxithromycin, Erythromycin, Cefixime, etc are very good against Streptococcus infections, which is the chief cause of tonsillitis.
6) In Siddha we have Nilavembu kudineer(decoction)which is a very good antibiotic against all respiratory tract infections.
7) You have to take some supporting therapy for your nasal congestion and phlegm.
8) The chief thing you have to consider is your food habits(no cold items), lifestyle(avoid AC) and use good protection against cold climate(use of scarp, cotton in ears, etc...)
I advice not to remove the gland. You can get good remedy in alternative systems of medicines.

Could you explain about Nilavembu kudineer? where can I get it.
Should I consult any Siddha doctor or take this medicine myself?
Is there any side effect?

Hi,
In homeopathic medicine tonsil related problems are due to reduced immunity power and homeo medicine is not recommending removal of tonsil.It says that removal doesnt improve the symptoms.If tonsil removes body is more susceptable to infections.So you can consult a homeopathic doctor and have the medications it is completely curable.

Try Baryta Carb. It is one of the tried and tested remedies for accute Tonsillitis. Baryta Carb is also effective in inflamed tonsils. Dr. Burnett feels that this remedy is among the biggest tonsil remedies. Tonsils when enlarged due to repeated vaccinations then use Thuja or Silicia . When tonsilitis is due to Tubercular Diathesis, use Bacillinum first and then Baryta Carb.
