yes they can be whiter you have to brush twice daily and use a mouth-wash..
if your teeth remains as it is then in my view plz visit a dentist..
he'll help you out..Perhaps you need a scaling treatment

if tooth is discoloured due to intrinsic and extrensic stains then proper treatment like bleaching scaling will help

hi.
U have not properly described which kind of discolouration.
discoloration can be treated by BLEACHING.
Bleaching can be home bleaching (done by patient at home after dentist advice) or in office bleaching (done in clinic in front of doctor).

Try this
Take some saindha salt (also called Pakistani namak) on your palm & Put a few drops of sarson oil over it. Mix well. Rub it on your teeth using your finger. Follow this remedy for at least one month. Experience the result.
