I got some clues about what you are undergoing!First of all Relax..dont underestimate yourself. Find out the reasons for why negative thoughts are coming in your mind.. was it because of your brought up style? WAs it because of your sorroundings? Or do you have a complex that you cant do anything by yourself?
Find the answers for the above questions..take a piece of paper and wrie down all your positive thoughts/qualities and negative thoughta/qualities.
Firat of all "BELIEVE" believe in your abilites and say to yourself that everytime you wake up/while you sleep "i can acheive good marks/(anything that you desire) with the help of GOD.Repeat this affirmation also at any queit place for 8 times in such away that you can hear it also. Remove your negative thoughts and fears by saying similiar sentences like"iam a positive thinker"iam a winner,success comes to me"etc etc..It will seep deep into your subconscious mind,i bet after 40 days you will find yourself better.Do it in a row i.e continiuosly,dont miss a day for 40 days.
Life is full of ups and downs..so we should prepare ourself to meet both the ends.one shouldnot lose hope at all.Read books by Norman vincent peale about the art of positive living.it will improve your thoughts.
In our ISC community section;there is this community that i created called"Be positive"there are lots of tips and ideas to overcome negative thoughts.It might be helpful to you.
I can also recoomend you "Alpha mind power" classes by Dr Vijayalakshmi Pandhyan. There are CDS from her at nominal cost in the form of meditaion to overcome depression and negative thoughts. I can provide more information about the meditations CDs and links but im not sure if i can write them here..If you are intersted send me a message.
Finally,dont worry..it is the normal dilema that human beings pass through and recover from it by changing their thoughts and ideas. Best example is OPRAH..she is the feinine who have undergone lots of mental and physical tortures,recoverd from it and now serving as a leading psychological counsellor and advisors.

Both words mean to be sad. it is how long the condition lasts is the main focus. It can be cured by caring for others and setting goals for yourself everyday. Keep the mind clear by focusing on surroundings and don't speak negative thoughts in the mind. Use your own positive thoughts. It is OK to have a silent mind but still be focused. Listen to yourself breath even though you can't hear it to help meditate. Above all have faith in Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit.

Your name itself implies that you should remain always happy but you are not. The reason resides inside you. You dont want to move up from your depression.
There are various ways to build self confidence. Just try to neglect your thoughts when they got irritating and try to remain happy all the time.
No one on the earth came with skills, He learns them by his experience and studies. So try to move out from your inner problems and stick to your studies only then you can have great future. One line for you Leave Your All the Worries, Concentrate on Your Goal and Hope for the Best.

Hi kushi, The problem with you is,due to some reason,you are not able to put 100% effort in whatever you do.you have the ability but your psychological assumptions are preventing you from performing better.Our human brain works similar to an artificial neural network.It constantly makes assumptions by watching its surroundings.This is how you learn things.Let me tell you a very good example about false assumptions.Forgive me if my reply is lengthy.
This is how circus people train the elephants.First they catch an elephant when it is very young.They will tie it to a small pole.It is impossible for the child elephant to break the pole and become free.But it keeps on trying.After several attempts,it makes an assumption that it is way beyond her ability to unearth the pole.So it simply gives up.When it becomes an adult,one simple push by it can break the pole in to pieces.But it will not try.why?In its childhood it already made a false assumption!
We too make such false assumptions.For example you try very hard to solve a problem.After several unsuccessful attempts,you simply assume that "no matter how hard I try I will never get it".Even if you solve it later,the assumption will not fade away.
So my advice is always be optimistic.Try to put your 100% effort in whatever you do.Even if your thoughts prevent you,just let them pass away like ripples in water.Close your eyes and sit still for 5 minutes everyday.Allow every thought(both negative and positive) to come but don't pay attention to them.This way you learn to be stable. Its very simple to overcome this problem. becaz i too had the same problem few year's back... but my mom adviced me and gave some small tips.. i will tell u the same and u can too try it out and get out of this problem. 1) do mediataions daily for one hour. 2) Have good food and get relaxed 3) Dont be alone.. be with some one always and make yourself busy. 4) Take rest when ever you get time 5) Go for GYM and Listen to more songs which u like 6) if u belive god then go to temple and pray..
if you do all these regulary.. surely u can come out of it what now your facing...

dear kushi, Do you know something? your name 'kushi' means "happiness" in tamil.so dont worry friend for you have a powerful soul within. Even i suffered from this problem during my school days but we had meditation classes in our school and this helped me gain my positive thoughts. First of all,have strong belief in yourself.God has given you a beautiful oppurtunity to study for IIT,which means you are going to succeed your way through that beautiful campus. dear khushi, Negative thoughts are prior stage before getting into depression you are not into depression yet. What a wonderful name you are having and you are acting opposite to it and please what ever phase you are going through its not mental disorder , it happens to every body and is part and partial of our life . What i feel is reason for it is you are thinking more of the outcome which you should not think about , you should focus on controllable factors. What ever is gonna happen it will happen , why should we worry about it and spoil our present as well . YOU share this problems with your parents or some near or dear ones you will for sure feel more comfortable , also you need to motivate yourself and should have belief in yourself , you can't loose the battle without fighting . Khushi i have trust on you that you can achieve what ever u want to in your life because once you have courage to come out and speak about your problems in public forum it shows how bold you are , please avoid people with negative mind set , try to see every positive in what ever you do. ALSO enjoy along with studies as fun should be part o our life .
