Note: Attempt any five questions. All questions carry equal marks.
1. Explain the meaning and need of business communication. Discuss the process of business communication?
2. Discuss the typology of communication. What are their relative merits and demerits?
3. Define effective communication. Why does communication normally get distorted? How can it be made effective?
4. You have been offered appointment as HR manager in a manufacturing organization but the salary offered is much less when compared with your salary in the present job. Write a letter to president-HR for a salary raise giving proper justification?
5. What is meant by business report? Discuss the contents of a business report with examples at relevant places?
6. Define negotiation. What is its relevance in business communication? Discuss the essentials of successful negotiation?
7. Discuss the following:
(i) Precautions to be taken while presentation of a report
(ii) Public speaking
8. Write notes on the following:
(a) Legal aspects of business communication
(b) Skill requirement for effective communication
