15.Outline the ß-oxidation pathway of fatty acids.

16.Discuss the biological roles of prostagladins.

17.Give a short account of isoelectric focusing.

18.How do steroid hormones control metabolism?

19.Explain chemiosmotic couping hypothesis.

PART C-(4*10=40)

Answer any FOUR questions.

All questions carry equal marks.

Each answer shoud not exceed 500 words.

20.What are polysaccharides? Explain the structure and properties of starch.

21.Explain the discovery, structure and applications of gibberllins.

22.Describe the structure, classes and functions of immunoglobulin molecules.

23.What are alkaloids? Discuss varius classes of alkaloids.

25.Give a detailed account of technique, types and applications of centrifuge.
