UNIT –I
(Entomology)
1. What is the difference between a predator and a parasite? Discuss the life cycle, damage
pattern and control of Gandhi bug (Leptocorisa acuta) and paddy moth (Tryporiza
incertula). 2 + (6x2) =14
2. What is Integrated Pest Management (IPM)? Discuss the principle involved in IPM.

UNIT –II
(Fishery and Fishery Biology)
3. Define biodiversity. Discuss fish diversity in Assam with special emphasis on the fish
fauna in the water bodies of Southern Assam. 2+12=14
4. What are the common diseases in freshwater fishes? Discuss any two of them. Add a note
on Epizootic Ulcerative Syndrome (EUS). 2+8+4 = 14
UNIT –III
(Aquaculture)
5. What is primary productivity? Discuss primary productivity in an aquatic ecosystem.

6. What is aquaculture? Discuss an overview of prawn culture in India. 2+12=14
UNIT –IV
(Parasitology)
7. What is Kala-azar? Disciuss the life cycle, pathogenesity and control of the protozoon
causing Kala-azar. 2+12 =14
8. What are hookworms? Describe the life cycle, pathogenesity and control of Ankylostoma
duodenale. 2+12=14
UNIT –V
(Wildlife Management)
9. Discuss the habit, habitat and ethology of Rhinoceros unicornis and Pigmy hog with special
reference to their management in Assam 7+7 = 14
10. Write short notes on any two of the following : 7 x 2 = 14
(a) Project Tiger
(b) IUCN
(c) Wildlife Sanctuary
