Time: Three Hours Maximum Marks: 75

Note: Attempt any five questions. All carry equal marks.

1. (a) What is Computer Graphics? Discuss the various uses of Computer Graphics.
(b)Explain Character generation and Flat Panel displays.

2. (a)Explain the following:
(i) Raster Scan display and Random scan display.
(ii) Line Plotting and Point Plotting Devices.
(b)What are the functions of Display processor Unit (DPU)? Explain the use of CRT also.

3. (a)Resolution of a RGB Monitor is 1024 x 1024 and each colour is stored in 8 bits, calculate.
(i) Size of Frame Buffer
(ii) Total shades of colours that can be displayed by the system.
(iii) No. of Scan lines.
(b)Explain refresh and storage displays.

4. (a) Discuss two basic techniques for producing color displays with a CRT.
(b)Resolution of B/W system is 640 x 480 and total 32 shades of gray can be displayed by the system .calculate.
(i) Size of Frame Buffer
(ii) No. of bits required to information of 1 pixel.
(iii)If refrest rate is 25 C/s, then calculate time to access a pixel.

5. (a)Explain the purpose of color look up table? Discuss an algorithm for the implementation of color look up table.
(b)Discuss Bresenham’s algorithm.

6. (a)What is antialiasing? Discuss three ant aliasing techniques.
(b)Write Midpoint circle algorithm. Explain it with the help of an example.

7. (a) Describe the Sutherland-Hodgman algorithm for line clipping.
(b)With the help of a block diagram explain the hardware for interactive computer graphics system.

8. (a) What are the three basic geometric 2D transformations? What is inverse Transformation?
(b)Explain the concept of window and viewpoint.

9. (a) What is 3D Transformation? Discuss an algorithm for spline curve.
(b)What do you understand by hidden line removal? Write buffer algorithm for hidden line removal.

10. Write short notes on any three of the following:
(i) Parallel and perspective projection
(ii) Animation and rendering
(iii) Shadow maste technique
(iv) Fractals
