TEACHING OF ENGLISH

Time: 3 hrs. Max. marks: 60

SECTION – A (24 MARKS)

Attempt any 4 questions from the following section. Each of them carries 6 marks. Word limit for an answer is 250 words.

1. Define the concept of social science. Differentiate between social science and social studies.


2. What is problem solving approach? Explain the various steps of problem solving.


3. Explain the importance of excursions, time lines and community resources for teaching of social science.


4. How can you carry out continuous and comprehensive evaluation in social science?


5. Define Action Research. Write the different steps of action research.


SECTION –B (20 MARKS)

Attempt any 2 questions from the following section. Each question carries 10 marks. Word limit for an answer is 400 words.

6. What do you understand by Expository teaching? How can expository teaching combine with discovery approach make classroom teaching – learning effective?


7. Construct an achievement test with objective type questions of the three domains from a topic of social sciences of elementary school level.


8. How can teaching of social science help in achieving an elegant society?


SECTION – C (16 MARKS)

Compulsory question. Word limit for the answer is 800 words.

9. a) Why is knowledge of conducting pedagogical analysis important for a social science teacher?

b) Carry out pedagogical analysis of a unit from social science content of secondary school curriculum.
