Take the day off to choose not to go to work for one day. On the other way it's nothing but taking leave.

Sample Usage

The sun was shining, and it was warm, so I took the day off and went fishing.

Bharath wasn’t feeling well, so she took the day off.

Evil doesn't take a day off.

I take the day off and hit the badminton course only to come back and find out that prashanth and gang have that required material.
