About Sonajirao Kshirsagar Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital
Considering that the Homoeopathic system of medicine has vast potential for reaching the rural area at comparatively less cost our Adarsh Shikshan Sanstha took an earliest opportunity to popularize Homoeopathic system of medicine in the Marathwada Region and it started D.H.M.S. course in the first instance in its Sonajirao Kshirsagar Homoeopathic Medical College Beed in 1974.
The Sanstha has introduced B.H.M.S. degree course from June 1986 with the permission granted vide Govt. of Maharashtra , Medical Education and Drugs , Dept. Bombay Resolution No. HED/1085/4493/MED -7 dt 21 June 1986 and vide Central Council of Homoeopathy New Delhi, Letter No. 12-9/86/CCH/1533- dt 6.8.86
The college is affiliated to the Dr. B.A. Marathwada University Aurangabad and it is imparting the education leading to the degree of of bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (B.H.M.S.) from 1998 the Health Sciences have been transferred and affiliated to M.U.H.S.Nasik.
The B.H.M.S. degree course is uniform course in Homeopathic medicine recommended by the central council of Homopathic New Delhi and approved by the govt. of India Minstry of health and Family Welfare New Delhi.
The College has introduced M.D.(Hom.)Courses in Meteria Medica ,Hom. Philosophy and Repertory from the 1994-95 session with permission granted by Central Council of Homoeopathy New delhi Vide letter No.1993/821/CAR/422/93.Education dated 3rd May 1994 under affilation with Dr. Dr. B.A. Marathwada University Aurangabad .The CCH has granted 6 seats for regular & 6 seats for external candidates per subject. It is the college in Maharashtra to start P.G.(Hom.) courses. The B.H.M.S., B.H.M.S.Graded and M.D.(Hom.) Quaifications of Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University are included in the second schedule of CCh Act 1973. The college has also N.S.S. Unit.
The college has its own building in the heart of the city. It has provided Ultra-sonography. Endoscopy, 500 m A X-ray, Auto analyzer, and physio-therapy dept. in the O.P.D. and I.P.D. of the attached Hospital. The qualified intellectuals are associated with the college for teaching the post Graduate courses. The seminars, symposium, coaching camps, work-shop and clinical meetings are held in the college. Hostel facility is provided for P.G. students in the premises of the college. The college has proposed to start P.G. in Pharmacy, Psychiatry, Practice of Medicine & Paediatrics. The premission from the C.C.H. is awaited. It is planned to start international centre for Homoeopathy.
